For New Dogs:
- Click Pets in the left hand menu, the Our Dogs page will display
- Click the + in the top right corner
- Click on Choose File to navigate to a photo that is on the computer, a server or on a device (typically a phone or camera) that is connected to the computer
- Click Go to manage the facial recognition application
- Move the photo so that the eyes are lined up with the line across the screen
- Click Next
- Place a circle on each eye and the triangle on the nose
- Click Next, the photo will then be scanned
The information page will display:
- Dog’s Name - Enter Unknown if Stray, enter name if known or discovered (license, microchip, name tag)
- Pet Status – This identifies how and where the profile will display
- Click Found for Stray dogs (not for surrenders, emergency boarding, or any other intake type)
- Click Adoptable for dogs that are Available for Adoption
- Click Hold for adoptable dogs that are temporarily not available (fallen ill, possible owner located, in the process of being adopted, etc)
- Pet ID - Enter the internal ID or reference number that has been assigned to the animal while in care, typically the ID number assigned by the primary database
- Intake Date - Today’s date will default
- Click on the date displayed to change it if needed
- Click Done in the top right corner of the calendar screen
- Primary Breed (that the dog looks like if mixed)
- Click to open the list
- Type the breed name in the search field to navigate quickly
- Click the breed to select it
- Secondary Breed (if mixed and obvious)
- Click to open the list
- Type the breed name in the search field to navigate quickly
- Click the breed to select it
or
- Click on Mutt to identify as a mixed/cross/blended breed and the second breed cannot be easily identified
- Sex - Identify the dogs gender
- Age - Click to open options
- Click Age
- Use the sliders to identify Years and / or Months of age
- The age will display as Approximately at the bottom
- Click Done in the top right corner of the age screen.
- Microchipped - Identify if the animals is chipped
- About – Use this area to add any distinguishing features or details. For Stray dogs: such as coat type, coat pattern, intact or altered, were they wearing anything, where were they found, and anything that makes them unique that an owner may recognize them by. For Adoptable dogs: enter a bio about the dog, their personality, adoption fee, specific considerations, etc.
- Click Done in the top right corner of the screen
- The dog’s profile will then display
- Click <Back in the top left corner to enter another profile
o The newly added profile will display at the top of the Our Dogs page
o Records can be quickly located by entering the Pet ID into the Search field at the top of the Our Dogs page
o From the Our Dogs page records can be updated (edited) and searches for possible matches can be processed
